Having being together for over 27 years we'd much prefer to raise funds for charity than receive well intended presents for our (very) long anticipated marriage.

The Plastic Surgery and Burns Reseach Unit (PSBRU) was set up following the aftermath of the tragic events at Valley Parade on 11th May 1985.  I was personally not there that fateful day as I was sitting my first year exams at Newcastle, but was at the ground a few weeks before watching the Burnley game as a very rare successful season drew to a close.

Today, the PSBRU continues to looks at various ways in which wound healing and scarring following wound healing can be improved to deliver the best possible outcome for patients.
