Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this page set up in the memory of (Thomas) 'Mike' Oakley.

My Dad never sought the limelight and was never big on grand gestures or the search for greatness.  Like the best of us, he found pleasure in looking out for and connecting to the people he met along the path of life.  Always quick to smile, a man often of few words, but always many jokes (mostly bad) and a extensive catalogue of facial expressions to try and lighten any dark day.

And so appropriately, the charity selected is one that is meant to bring some joy to those it serves, hopefully leaving happy memories of days and evenings out with family and friends on a shared experience - and remember if you choose your movie poorly, that just gives you a different route in to the story to be told.  Sometimes you just need to dig a little deeper to make people smile.
