Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I am attempting to summit all 214 Wainwrights in the Lake District while carrying a hod of bricks. I’m doing this to raise as much as I can for Mind Over Mountains, a charity that helps people struggling with their mental health by improving their access to the great outdoors. 

I’ve always struggled with my own mental health and the mountains have been a saviour for me. I fell in love with the Lake District 25yrs ago and have been visiting regularly since. The mountains keep my demons at bay and I want others who are struggling to experience how freeing the mountains can be. 

To date, I’ve completed the 3 Peaks Challenge, a marathon, summited Kilimanjaro, walked coast-to-coast along Hadrian’s Wall, all while carrying the hod, which weighs just over 30kilos and is extremely uncomfortable to carry. The Wainwrights will be my hardest challenge to date. 

In the last couple of years, the pandemic has really brought mental health issues to the fore and any contribution to this brilliant charity are greatly appreciated.
