A.M.E.N.D. Is our chosen charity we will be raise money for. Jack, our organiser, has chosen this charity because they have in the past and still are helping out his family; his dad’s side of the family have a genetic condition called M.E.N.1 (Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 1). M.E.N.1 forms tumours which can either be benign or cancerous. Unfortunately for his uncle his tumours were cancerous and as a result of this he passed away in 2013 at the age of 43. His daughter and Jack's Dad are both undergoing regular treatment to try and catch the tumours as early as possible to try and prevent their tumours take a turn for the worst. Luckily Jack and his sister don’t have the M.E.N.1 gene.
