Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In the light of all cancelled events around the country, in particular the London Marathon, many UK charities have lost a lot of sponsorship income. The Olive Tree Trailblazers are joining the 2.6 challenge to help them out. Thousands of people across the UK will be doing activities around numbers 2.6, 26 or 260 in order to raise some of this lost revenue.

The Olive Tree Cancer Support Centre has been severely affected by the lockdown. Everyone who is willing to support them and raise some money, please join us in these fun and somewhat challenging activities.

What are we going to do?

Well, it’s up to you! Each of us can choose their activity. It can be sport-related or something completely opposite. Anything goes as long as it’s moral (don’t suggest any unholy things with 26 people in a day please); challenging (26 hours Netflix marathon is not a challenge. Or is it? Depending on what you watch, I guess. But then again remember about the morals :) ). Just remember, the more challenging (silly) it is, the more people will sponsor it, and this is our ultimate goal.

On the 26th of April, the day The London Marathon was meant to take place, we will create a video of all of us completing the challenge and virtually high-fiving between participants.

What we need from you:
- Come up with your own challenge
- We welcome £5 donation for participation (the link below)
- Spread the word and share the 'JustGiving' link to raise money >>> https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/the-trailblazers-2-6
- Film your challenge activity. Here are the important notes:
BEFORE the activity film a high-five with anyone from your house so that we can only see their hand (they should hold the camera).
Do the same AFTER the activity
This will be put together as taking a high five from the previous participant and then passing it over to the next person (almost like a baton)
- Videos should be LANDSCAPE
- Send your videos before 2 pm on the 26th of April either to a group chat or directly to Will.
- Involve your family (partners, kids, pets) – the more the merrier

Some activity ideas:
- Run 26.2 over the next few days
- Shave the number 26 on your head (or your back depending on your hair situation)
- Eat 26 mini eggs within 26 secs
- Do 26 push-ups within 26 secs (or with no time-limit)
- Walk up the stairs 26 times (or 260)
- Send 26 wishing-well notes to 26 nearest neighbours
- Make your kids do something challenging for 26 mins (26 steps for toddlers, read 26 stories)

For more ideas visit https://www.twopointsixchallenge.co.uk/. Feel free to make the number 260 or 2.6 – anything goes!

Let's do our bit to help out The Olive Tree and hopefully make the lockdown more entertaining for all of us.
