Story
The TCM Group first made the decision to form an ongoing charity partnership relationship with two charities, in celebration of our 20th anniversary year, during 2021. After a successful first year, raising over £3,500 between two causes, we are delighted to be in a position to continue our partnerships into 2022. Alzheimer's Society is one of our chosen causes, and we are also supporting the British Heart Foundation.
The COVID-19 pandemic made daily life for those affected by Alzheimer's disease much more difficult. As we know, certain vulnerable groups had to be extra careful due to their susceptibility to severe symptoms of Coronavirus. Almost everyone affected by Dementia and many older family carers fell within these higher-risk groups.
The pandemic caused financial uncertainty for many, which has disrupted Alzheimer's Society's ability to fund their essential services. The charity worked especially hard during the pandemic, in providing welfare support, a companion service, and continual efforts to respond to the growing care home crisis. We hope that our company-wide efforts, alongside those of our customers, connections and friends, will have a direct impact upon those living with this devastating disease, many of whom have faced increased vulnerability and isolation during the past year.
As an organisation, we plan to raise funds through a number of means:
- We will be making a £20 donation, split across our two chosen causes, for each Mediation Service we deliver, and for every place booked on our National Certificate in Workplace Mediation open-access training courses.
- We run regular webinars and conferences to promote our products and services. For each of these free events, we will be suggesting that attendees make a suggested donation of £5 to their choice of our two partner charities.
- We plan to run fundraising activities, challenges and events to offer further opportunities for our wider team to get involved and raise additional funds throughout the year.
