Story
The last year has gone by in a blur with all of us having to adapt to new ways of teaching our children and juggling that with working from home. The Meads Primary School, like all schools in the country, are trying to manage another school closure. This means lessons are now being delivered remotely and resources being hand-delivered to those that need them.
Unfortunately, the first school closure put a stop to all the fun we were due to have with the many fundraising activities arranged for the end of the 2019/20 academic year, and the current school closure has meant that the children yet again miss out on enrichment activities and fundraising opportunities.
The pandemic has impacted our families greatly with many people on furlough or unemployed, with finances stretched and many families having to share devices while trying to access education at the same time. It has become increasingly apparent the digital divide has been exacerbated by the circumstances many families have found themselves in and we believe children’s education should not suffer during school closures.
Working with the staff and teachers at The Meads, the PTA aims to help relieve the pressure on families and raise funds so the school can purchase devices that can be distributed to children who need them most, with the aim to alleviate the divide and falling educational access.
Any donation big or small would be brilliant.
Many thanks.
