Story
Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page! Since 2020 we have raised over £1000 a year to support CICRA.
Over the weekend of 11-12 May 2024 we held another plant sale and were very busy propagating ferns, figs, unusual perennials, small shrubs, trees, wild flowers and a wide range of fruit, herbs and vegetables. The weekend was a success, and combined with putting plants on our wall for a further month, we raised over £1200 for CICRA in 2024 - thanks to the generosity of friends and neighbours!
In 2023 our friends and neighbours amazed us with their generosity and we raised over £1000 in plant sales, other donations and being a printer cartridge recycling location.
As a family we have benefited from CICRA since our son was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2018. CICRA support research, provide information for families and provide national events that allow for families to network and to meet consultants and academics undertaking groundbreaking research. Their array of freely available resources allow families and children's teachers to understand a child's symptoms and side effects of the drugs they may be taking.
There is currently no cure for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, including Crohn's.
As a family we have sold cakes for CICRA, raffle tickets and in 2020, we held a plant sale from the safety of our front garden during the first lock down. In 2021 we teamed up with 5 other houses in Quainton to open up our gardens and sell plants. With our wonderful village community, we raised £808 despite the weather and a further £170 in plant sales! (We note these donations as offline donations to this page so the entire total is recorded.) In 2022 and 2023 we raised a further £2000 in plant sales, donations, recycling initiatives and every which way we could.
If you can help, it will benefit a truly terrific charity undertaking vital work! Thank you.
