Amelias Rainbow is celebrating 10 years of supporting children with disabilities & serious illness. In our 10th year we are fundraising towards a wheelchair adapted caravan. We need help raising £100k for a caravan to help families create memories.

Story

After the success of last year’s charity football match, we are returning for the ‘Re-match’ which starts at 2.00 pm Saturday 17 June at Wimborne Town Football Club.

This year, our chosen charity will be Amelia’s Rainbow.  They are a small local charity who support children in Dorset with disabilities or serious, chronic terminal illnesses by providing grants, gifts and respite.

Amelia’s Rainbow very generously gifted a laptop to Connor shortly after his Osteosarcoma diagnosis.  This enabled him to continue 'gaming' with Cameron whilst they were separated for the best part of 9 months during Connor's treatment.  For those who know the boys well, you will be pleased to hear that they managed to keep up their competitive streak during this time!   This computer was also Connor’s main source of contact with his friends who sadly he couldn't see again due to lockdown and the suddenness of his passing.

Amelia's Rainbow support the parents and siblings of the child throughout their treatment and beyond.  They also offer a beach hut and caravan to provide families with an opportunity to make memories, which for some, sadly will be their lasting memories.  Therefore, lets make as much money as we can for this charity to help these families suffering at this moment in time.  Please donate as little, or as much as you can.

You are welcome to come down and support us on the day.  We had a huge amount of supporters last year who were very impressed by the skills of the good footballer players.  They were also very entertained laughing at the (skills) of the non-footballer teams playing in fancy dress!  We will also have a raffle and cake stall, so any donations towards either of these would be graciously received.  The raffle will take place at the end of the day in Wimborne Town's clubhouse, where we can all enjoy a well deserved drink.

AMELIAS RAINBOW

Amelias Rainbow is celebrating 10 years of supporting children with disabilities and serious illness. The charity was named after Amelia Grace Cooper who sadly passed away from an aggressive cancer in 2010. Her fight and generosity inspired her family to start the charity in her name to help other children in a similar position.Over the last 10 year we have supported hundreds of children by enhancing their play, learning or achievement. The pandemic gave us an opportunity to assess our services and we noticed an increased demand for our holiday home and beach hut and we also now have many youngsters who have a disability so need adapted facilities. In our tenth year we are fundraising towards a wheelchair adapted caravan. We need help to raise £100,000. This will cover all costs of the caravan so we can offer over 50 holiday a year to families.Your donations and fundraising will have a huge impact of the well-being & lives of families who need that helping hand to create memories.
