Story
As the weeks turn into months, we are tiring of the Pandemic. The latest restrictions are meant to keep us at home to be safe. However, our hospital workers go to work every day, leaving the safety of their homes to go to the hospital and look after anyone who needs their care. When they decided to become healthcare workers, they never thought they could die from their career choice. They wear the PPE and put on a brave face and hope they do not bring Covid 19 home to their families.
I am proposing a way to tell these heroes how much they are applauded, thanked and loved in this unprecedented time.
Funds raised will be put towards food for the staff as well as more permanent comfort items for them to use on a daily basis. A UV Sanitizer that is used to clean keys and cell phones before and after shifts. These items are at high risk of carrying germs and it would give them piece of mind.
The other item is a sun lamp so that the healthcare team can get much needed vitamin D. The team finds that working 12 or more hour shifts make it almost impossible to get sunshine especially during COVID when their shifts are being extended beyond normal. This item has been proven to help with Seasonal Affective Disorder and blues that people often get at this time.
I am asking you to please donate money to tell our hospital workers how much they mean to the community they serve.
We are "all in this together" but these people are in the trenches and the end is not in sight. We need to tell them, especially in these cold dreary days of winter, how truly grateful we are for the risks they take every day for us.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please take a little time and donate to show our irreplaceable Huntsville Hospital workers our sincere gratitude.
