We believe in the power of sport to transform young lives.

Story

As many of you know I work for Access Sport. Access Sport believe all young people should be able to experience the power of sport. However over the past few years the number of people on low incomes participating in sport has fallen nearly 50,000, causing a third of UK children being classified as obese or overweight, sidelining the poor and vulnerable. Your support makes a real difference in creating a level playing field, giving under-represented and at-risk young people regardless of ability, gender, background or ethnicity, the chance to enhance their life prospects through sport.

What many of you will not know, is that I suffer from Ehlers Danlos Syndrom and Postural Tachycardica Syndrome. These conditions provide daily challenges but particularly impact me taking part in sport and physical activity. I have therefore decided to set myself this extremely tough physical challenge and ask that you help me raise money for Access Sport so that we can continue to help others who are in much tougher and more isolated situations than myself.

Chris will also be doing the ride with me and to put things into perspective about how hard this challenge will be, neither of us owned a bike when we signed up to take part in this, so please give anything you can.

Access Sport is a registered charity. We make inclusion the norm by tackling the access barriers faced by disadvantaged and disabled young people, focussing on the causes of exclusion—not just the symptoms.
