Hello, my name is Terry Malloy and I'd like to thank you for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page.

On the Tuesday 15th January 2013, Alun Rees, a dear family friend of more than 35 years died.

Alun was a very kind and generous man with a huge heart and deep passion for sport. It therefore seemed fitting to me to try and complete a half marathon in Alun's memory. The event is also taking place in the town that Alun lived in for probably most of his life.

There's certainly not enough space here to share the full impact Alun had on those who knew him. So I would just like to borrow some words from his funeral service.

"There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains."
