Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Dad (Bob) suffered a heart attack in 1998, which led to his eventual diagnosis of heart failure. The Gloucestershire Heart Failure Specialist Nurses have supported him over the last few years with their expert knowledge of the condition and made a huge difference to his quality of life. They rely upon this Charity, Pumping Marvellous, for their patient information literature and educational support.

Bob passed away on 11th September, aged 94 years, peacefully at home. He was a lifelong resident of Wotton-Under-Edge and was an active member of the Bowls and Horticultural Clubs. Bob worked for 50 years at Mawdsleys in Dursley, initially as an Apprentice Electrical Fitter in 1941, aged 14. He was called up to join the Royal Signals in 1946, but resumed his career at Mawdsleys in 1948 where he completed his Apprenticeship and spent many years training the next generation of electrical engineers before working on MOD orders.

Bob celebrated his Diamond Wedding Anniversary with the love of his life, Olive, in 2011. He and Olive both lived full and happy lives, holidaying with friends and ballroom dancing. Bob was also an incredibly supportive parent, grandparent and great-grandparent, who will always be remembered with love and pride.

Unfortunately in these unprecedented times,  many of you who would’ve liked to pay your last respects to Bob will be unable to do so.  However, any donation to his nominated Charity, Pumping Marvellous, would be very gratefully received.   Thank you.
