Story
Every summer from 2016 to 2019, I ran an BBQ at my home in Finaghy. Covid meant that the past few years have been put on pause, but I'm delighted to be able to host you again on the evening of Friday 29th July.
I'll provide BBQ'd food, but you're welcome to bring your own if you've a particular favourite! I'll have some beverages but I'd encourage you to BYOB.
Traditionally, I run this event as a fundraiser - and I'd love if you'd be able to provide a donation to Ten Foundations.
Ten Foundations makes schoolbags. Schoolbags that are changing lives in the Philippines. "PAGASA" a Filipino word that means hope, by buying these bags you are bringing hope to many people living in poverty. Schoolbags made by the women of Ten Foundations livelihood programme.
Ten Foundations is a charity based in Belfast supporting vulnerable children, families and communities in the Philippines. Their vision is to relieve the suffering and hardships vulnerable children and families face everyday by providing care and support where it’s needed most.
Ten Foundations is committed to reducing poverty and building a positive future for the children and adults they work with. Their work revolves around two core development areas: livelihood and educational programmes.
Thanks to my humble employer, Datactics, who have agreed to match the amount raised. If you donate £10, that will be matched by Datactics and if you're a UK taxpayer, the UK Government will add a further 25% on top of your donation if you select the 'GiftAid' option. So your £10 turns into £22.50. Your donation will go a long way. Even if you can't attend, a donation would be graciously received - thank you!
