Story
Camp Kudzu is a non-profit organization that serves children and teens living with Type 1 Diabetes through year-round camp programs. I began attending camp at 8 years old and couldn't stay away after that! Once I aged out as a camper, I took part in the leadership development program as a CIT (Counselor-in-Training). The second I was old enough, I signed up to volunteer as a cabin counselor. I went on to serve on the Head Staff volunteer team as well.
Currently, It is an honor and a privilege to work on Camp Kudzu's year-round staff team as the Senior Programs Manager. I get to work directly with our volunteers, most of whom are former campers! I get to help ensure that our programs give children and teens living with t1d the chance to meet others like them, try new things (both diabetes related and not!), learn skills that help them thrive with t1d, and become empowered to teach others about their disease- especially that it doesn't have to hold them back!
Camp Kudzu is a non-profit, so we need your help to continue providing this life-changing support! Please consider helping me as I lead the way in creating this NEW annual event- a chance for the young adults in Camp Kudzu's community to begin giving back to the future of Kudzu!
