Thank you for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page.
We are participating in a 24 hour run for Haiti, by completing an allocated time slot on a treadmill in central Dorridge, Solihull, between 12:30 on the 5th November - 12:30 on the 6th November.
We are participating in this event to assist Tearfund to respond to the recent earthquake, which occurred in Haiti on 14th August 2021.
It is known that 2,200 people lost their lives in this disaster, 30,300 homes were destroyed and 300 schools were lost in the earthquake, affecting 100,000 teachers and pupils. The infrastructure of the affected regions have been hit hard, many children are currently incredibly vulnerable.
Tearfund are working to ease immediate hardship in Haiti, and are also engaged in their longer term vision to empower communities to escape poverty and withstand the effects of disasters when they occur.
Tearfund is an organisation which seeks to release people from poverty in a sustainable way. They are transparent regarding their use of funds and are rigorously robust in their accounting. Tearfund seek to live out the calling placed on our hearts, to love our neighbour.
Thank you so much for your support, we are so grateful.
