Hi guys!

I’m really excited to tell you that I have been selected to volunteer overseas with International Services on an International Citizen Service placement.

As some of you may know, I do currently volunteer weekly with a charity however due to my love for travelling, I have decided to embark on this challenge. I will be living with a host family for three months in North Ghana and excited to be a part of something so great.

From supporting partners to promote the rights and freedoms of people living with disabilities, developing cooperatives for farmers, delivering sexual health and education projects, and paving the way to Fair Trade status for my Ghanaian community, I quickly saw this as a great opportunity I have to be a part of.

ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help so you guys know this made me apply! It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development.

The first part of my placement is a challenge to raise £800 towards the work of International Services and their ICS partners. The money raised will go towards enabling the overall costs of ICS, ensuring they can to continue sending youth volunteers to the developing world to make a lasting difference in disadvantaged communities.

Any contribution from you will make a real difference to the lives of people in developing countries, so please dig deep. I really appreciate it <3
