Story
Warwick Lions Club was founded on February 20th, 1961. In the 60 years since, we have helped thousands in need in our community. To celebrate our 60th birthday, we are hoping to achieve the ambitious goal of raising £6,000 by the end of 2021 to help make up for the loss in fundraising we experienced in 2020. Our two biggest fundraisers, the Warwick Town Bonfire and Carols at the Castle, were sadly cancelled due to the pandemic. Each member has been asked to run their own fundraiser - they can set their own goal but it must have a 6 and a 0 in it!
Warwick Lions Club has been a part of my life since 2016. My Dad is a Lion and my Grandpa was a Lion and when I moved to Warwick, I was so excited to see that there was a club here. I am a long way from home (San Antonio, Texas!), but Lions Club was a small piece of home and allowed me to meet more people in the community. Community service has been a part of my life since I was young as my parents are both avid volunteers and I was eager to help those in my new community. Since then, I have loved getting to know my fellow Lions, looking for creative ways to raise funds, and, most importantly, helping those most in need in the Warwick and Leamington Spa area.
Our fundraising was hit hard in 2020 and this fundraiser will help us gain some ground back to continue helping those in need. Thank you so much for supporting my goal of raising £600 this year!
