Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I'll try to keep this short. 

I was told that I had cancer in April 2013 year at the age of 35, the prospect of some of the treatment I was potentialy facing filled me with dread.  I don't want to sound melodramatic but I genuinely don't know how I'd have coped without the help of The Olive Tree  .

I found their card in a support pack I received after surgery.  I was getting desperate when I sent them an email reaching out, I'm glad that I did.  The first line of the response I received from Marilyn simply said "We can help!" three little words that meant so much.  I'm man enough to admit that re-reading that email now has reduced me to tears.

Since then the support that they are offering me is instrumental in helping me square up to things and just get on with it.

Those of you that know me will know that I'm active and outdoorsy and that not being able to get out there after surgery was driving me potty.  Now that I'm fit again I've decided to take up all manner of challenges for myself at the same time as raising funds and getting some publicity for the good folks of The Olive Tree.  I'll be keeping the same page and updating it with details of my latest challenge as well as past successes.

Challenge 1 completed - £650 raised.

In September 2013 I made it up Snowdon with an intrepid bunch from The Olive Tree and boy it felt good, even the fog at the top tasted sweet.
