Newham Community Project have been operational for over 10 years now, helping the community in various projects over the years. Currently since the pandemic began, over one year ago, we are helping thousands of international students and local residents in and around Newham. The international students have No Recourse to Public Funds and no help from anywhere else and rely solely on Newham Community Project. We run a foodbank which distributes to over 2,500 international students every week with quality essential provisions.
We also offer academic support, practical support and delivery for those in isolation, including prescription pick-ups and other necessary deliveries. We help with University issues including fee extensions and payment plans. We help with cv's, personal statements, and interview techniques. We advertise job vacancies and other useful information through groups to help this vulnerable and struggling cohort back into work. We have social integration groups which include women empowerment, Infant Feeding Program, parents groups, and we look after the wellbeing of pregnant ladies and the overall wellbeing of our registered users. We also have a team of trained Mental Health Councilors to help overcome any concerns.
