Thanks for taking the time to visit my page! Soon I will be shaving off all my hair (almost all at least!) and donating it to the Little Princess Trust and raiding money for the Stars Appeal in doing so!

I will be doing my 'big shave' in aid of Salisbury District Hospital's Stars Appeal, supporting hundreds of patients across all wards and departments at the hospital and  the NHS staff and volunteers who care for them. The work of the stars appeal spans many facets of the hospital, from fundraising for new MRI scanners, providing arts and entertainment for patients and staff, building enhancements across the hospital and even keeping up the free WiFi!  

This is a cause that has always been close to our family, particularly to my Nanna who (prior to covid and hopefully again very soon) volunteered with the Stars Appeal's Engage program. Engage was set up to support the psychological needs of older adults & long term patients in hospital who often may find the transition from home to hospital difficult, simply by taking them out for a coffee, for a walk in the gardens or just for a chat. Engage was recently (ish) recognised in the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, 2016 for their outstanding contribution to supporting patients in hospital.
