Story
On 9th October 2016, Suzy Freake passed away as a result of a rare form of cancer, Pseudomyxoma Peritonei. She was 35 years young, and had only been diagnosed with the disease at the end of 2014. It is a poorly understood rare cancer that affects approximately 2 in every million people. The exact cause of, or best treatment for, this disease are not known.
From the initial diagnosis of this disease, Suzy was keen to understand her condition and offered to take part in relevant research projects in the hope that better understanding, treatments and maybe even a cure could be found for others facing the same diagnosis. As a result, she was really keen to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK and any funds you can offer will go towards Suzy’s wish to help others.
She spent her last few weeks under the amazing care of the Hospice in the Weald in Tunbridge Wells. The Hospice provided the complex palliative care that Suzy’s condition required, and their kindness, respect, understanding, and desire to do anything meant a huge amount to Suzy and her friends and family. Some of her final wishes were to raise a huge amount for this charity to enable them to continue the wonderful services that they offer. Please give as generously as you can – this charity runs almost solely on donations from people just like you.
