Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Those that know me know that I have always enjoyed long distance walking. So, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 and, throughout all of the treatment (chemotherapy, masectomy, radiotherapy and reconstruction) you wont be surprised to hear that the one thing that kept me going was walking and the challenge of training for the London Moonwalk 2012. In fact I enjoyed the event so much that I took part again in 2013 and 2014 - each time raising much needed funds for the Walk the Walk Charity - thank you to everyone that sponsored me. Looking for a new challenge this year, Dave and I have decided to take part in the Nijmegen 4 Days Marches over in Holland!
We had decided to do this event together 20 years ago but, even though we both trained and qualified, I fell pregnant with our elder son Michael and that was the end of that!!! Fast forward to 2015 (and retirement for me) we thought we would celebrate (ha ha!!) by revisiting the challenge together and actually doing it this time - particularly as Dave has always felt cheated by not doing it last time. We hope to do it as part of the Walk the Walk Team which means that Dave will have to get in touch with his feminine side and wear the obligatory Sparkly Pink Bra T-Shirt!!! (I promise to post photos!!!!).
As ever, if you would like to support our fundraising for Walk the Walk then all donations would be very much appreciated.
