Story
Dear Friend
Suzanne and Barbara are abandoning their frocks and foregoing their cocktails for 4 full days and doing something worthwhile. And we’re asking for a little help from our friends.
On 19th July we’re driving to the Ukraine border as part of an 8-woman team to take across medical and other supplies, and return with 28 refugee women and children, along with their cats and dogs,
These are the vulnerable, the disabled, those who are terrified to fly, those with pets they can’t abandon and women in the late stages of pregnancy.
It’s part of a phenomenal effort by EdenAid.org, a charity set up just 3 months ago: they’ve already organised 16 trips. (This is the first all-women team. Let's hope one of us can navigate).
It will take us 4 days in 4 minibuses. Each will will cost £2500 for the rental, insurance and fuel. And we’re totally reliant on donations and goodwill to fund this.
We’re not sure how many friends we’ve got between us but we’re asking all of them, all of you, to chip in whatever you can, if you feel able.
We’re going to post more updates so you can see how the trip goes (and we hope we won’t bore you!) We’ve partnered with the International Refugee Trust to raise this money, so we can claim Gift Aid on all the donations.
Thank you for any support you can give. x
