Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
I am taking on the very exciting, if rather daunting, challenge of running the London Marathon. Thankfully, I will be running with my very close friend, Roberta, who I have been running with for the last few years. Last year, during one of our runs, we made the decision that THIS is the year to finally take on the challenge of the London Marathon.
There are a few reasons why running the marathon is so important to me. Firstly, I am going to be 40 this year and I thought what better time of my life to try and achieve my long-held ambition. Secondly, it is a great opportunity to raise money for charity, to raise awareness, and to try and make a difference. Lastly, I have always wanted to do this in memory of my dad, Barrie Frost, who would have loved to run a marathon.
Roberta and I are raising money for the Youth Sports Trust, which is an independent UK charity devoted to changing young people's lives through physical education and sport, starting from early school years. Over 3,000 schools are already members of the charity, receiving PE teacher training, programs for delivering sport clubs, programs for young activity leaders and developing opportunities for children with disabilities.
The three main aims of the charity are:
1) To help every child get the best possible sporting start in life.
2) To help transform attitudes to disability sport because all young people deserve a sporting chance.
3) To support all young people in achieving their sporting best in school and their personal best in life.
