A bit about me!
Never ran in my life till I joined Doncaster Athletic Club's Pacers Beginners in Sept '14. I had so many health issues -still have a few!
But now I've got the buzz!
Entered my first 10k in March '15! Ran lots of local 5k & 10k Road Races, Run or Dye at Chatsworth, Trails, Cross Country & even head torch runs! I run in all weathers, all year round.
I am now a qualified Leader in Run Fitness, Guide Runner & First Aider, I help lead the slower Beginners & Intermediates at our club.
I fell & broke my upper right arm in 3 places running to take a photo on holiday in Milan in October '15 but managed to take my brace off & run Percy Pud 10k in the December with my Pacers!
I then completed 3 out of 4 of the South Yorkshire Road Leagues, Sheffield Half Marathon in April in 2.32. Guided Visual Impaired runner Shazza on half of Ben's 401 Marathon in Donny, then ran 16 miles of his Scunny one. Ran all of the Cape Wrath Challenge week in May & the 25k Round Run Sheffield in June. Also South Yorkshire Team Relays, Ladies Champions & Dam Flask Relays for my club DAC. Loved the late sumer trails at Bawtry & Northern Racing College, did Ten 10 Ten trail on my 60th birthday in October with 20 Pacers & 3 out of 4 South Yorkshire Cross Country races coming last as Veteran60 Lady but I did it!
Then found out I had a lower lumber fracture & had won a club ballot place for London Marathon!
Had 2 months off with physio, chiro & sports massage then started training at Xmas.
Did London & Cape Wrath Challenge Marathon then 27miles Dawn to Dusk.
Now I've fallen on a local trail & broken my hand!
Still running Anna Verrico Isle of Axeholme Half in Epworth on 24th September.
I'm steady but determined.
A slow coach!
