We raising funds to refurbish Emsworth Park to Improve health & wellbeing locally

Story

Hi everyone and thankyou for getting this far to sponsor me. This will both massively spur me on when the going gets tough (that'll be the minibus journey first then the hills!) and the fact that every penny will go to the Charity Verity's Gift. It is a superb charity that supports local youth with thier mental health. I have recently been diagnosed with PTSD and am lucky enough to have my counselling funded through an employee assistance programme. My trauma started when I was 3 years old, so getting mental health support to children is life changing and I am really proud to be supporting such action for our youth today.

I signed up for this challenge in Oct 21. I already attend a local bootcamp (Innovations Fitness in Emsworth with the fabulous Topsy and Lisa) and I heard they were  offering places to join them on this national 3 peaks challange and I thought to myself, yes that's how I can get myself to the fittest I've ever been, by the time I'm 50 (June 2023). Little did I know the hours of hiking I'd be putting in and kit I'd be buying, but I have already made some fab new friends and I'm looking forward to getting through the toughest 3 days of my life!!!

My training plan was thrown a bit off course by my Mam's rather extended hospital stay recently, so as I now enter the final 4 weeks of training, I need your sponsorship money to keep me motivated and cheer me on.

Thankyou for your support. Love you all Sue xx

Verity’s Gift is a charity set up to give help to local causes. Our first mission is to raise money to refurbish the Emsworth park children's play area. We want to create a place where people of all ages can come and visit, relax. Myself and the team are excited to be launching Verity’s Gift, a registered charity in memory of my beautiful wife, Verity. In 2018, my life got turned upside down when Verity unexpectedly fell ill and was taken to the hospital. Verity passed away four days later, leaving Harriet, aged 4, myself, our families and friends reeling. It was hard to imagine life without Verity. I had imagined that we would grow old together, have amazing times and see Harriet grow up. During these dark times, there was one place that Harriet and I would go to reminisce. A place where Verity had spent many times with Harriet - Emsworth Park. It was the only place, Harriet would be able to raise a smile and reconnect with her mum again.
