Story

Another day, another heartbreaking story. This boy (now named Teddy) was found in an appalling state. He is emaciated beyond belief, but perhaps even worse is that he has been diagnosed with diabetes which has been left untreated so he is now going blind. The vets who saw him said putting him to sleep was an option the pound kennels should consider, but after seeing his tail wagging they just couldn’t go through .

They haven't had great news about Teddy. He has gone to the vets and they don’t know how he is still alive. He’s very, very poorly. He’s been admitted to Pride Park ICU and they are going to try all they can to stabilise him. It is on his records to try everything they can to not let him leave us. He looks ancient but he is only young and he needs his fairytale ending.

Please give as much as you can spare, to cover the costs of treatment for this lovely boy, both now and going forward. His cataract treatment alone, is likely to be between £2,000 and £4,000 per eye. (In the event that poor Teddy doesn't make it, the funds will be used to help other rescue dogs in the care of Yappy Ever After).

About the charity

Yappy Ever After is registered with the Charities Commission (Charity #1163969) and works by saving dogs in need. All our dogs are placed into foster homes for assessment periods and not kennels. These periods last for a minimum of 2 weeks, but can go on for months, depending on the dog's issues.
