Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you know, I have been growing my hair to donate to the making of wigs for children who have suffered from medical conditions that have caused hair-loss either through cancer treatment, alopecia or ED.
I am inspired by how happy and excited my friend's daughter is when she gets her new wigs. She has very little hair growth due to Ectodermal Dysplasia Syndrome, a condition where there are abnormalities of two or more ectodermal structures such as the hair, teeth, nails, sweat glands, cranial-facial structure, digits and other parts of the body.
I love having long hair and wish these little girls to have it too! I have been growing my hair for this purpose for the last year and it is now ready to be cut for someone else enjoy it!
The Little Princess Trust is a fabulous charity that does what I think is a great job in restoring physical confidence in children. The Trust gives these children wigs made from real hair, and in that little action, one concern is taken away from the burden that they carry, and makes them feel 'normal' once again, without the stares of sympathy and pity on the streets.
After hearing about this charity and visiting its website, I decided that it would be worthwhile for me to donate my hair to the making of a wig for one of these children, and at the same time, get people to sponsor me and donate the money to the charity as well.
It costs an average of £350 to make and fit each wig so this is my target for sponsorship.
On Monday, Studio 2 will cut off 10 inches of hair that I will send to the Little Princess Trust.
