Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
This year (2016) I am aiming to walk a total of 2016 kilometres , or 1,250 miles, through either training or races and hopefully raise at least £2,016 for Finley's tracks.
You can follow my progress here: www.2016-2016-2016.blogspot.com
This challenge means I need to walk an average of 24 miles, just under a marathon distance, every week for a year. This does NOT include walking to work or walking the dog.
Finley suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) which is a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy affecting around 1 in 3,600 boys, resulting in muscle degeneration and premature death.
Unfortunately Finley is not the only sufferer on the Isle of Man, so the charity Finley's tracks has been set up to support all sufferers of DMD on the Island.
I have chosen this charity as I work with Finley's dad, Clive, and I feel this is the least I can do to help.
In addition to training miles, the main events I will be taking part in are:
24th April Fireman's Walk 31 Miles
14th May Rotterdam 50 Miles
18th June Parish Walk 85 Miles
14th Aug Isle of Man Marathon 26.2 Miles
24th Sept New York Centurion 100 Miles
Please note 100% of donations will go to the charity and are in no way funding my trips to Rotterdam or New York.
Feel free to donate a single amount, or if you prefer you can donate after a particular event. Just keep an eye on my blog to see how I am doing!
Thank you
