Story
Hello Steven here!
In this difficult time with yet more restrictions and so many of us unable to spend this time of year with our loved ones - I decided to try and make a positive out of it all.
At Christmas we all think 'what can I do to help others?', so I decided to use the 12 days of Christmas as my inspiration to run 5K a day for 12 days (60K in total). Not a lot for many people but significant for this old man!!
I know how tight money is for so many people and if all you are able to do is wish me well that is very much appreciated, but if you can spare a small donation to help Goodwill Caravan, a charity I am trustee of, and believe in wholeheartedly, I would be most grateful.
Goodwill Caravan is a small UK based charity which do incredible work supporting desperately vulnerable families and children in refugees camps in Greece. They save countless children and unaccompanied minors from organ trafficking and child slavery and they help with the basics that so many of us take for granted.
I hate that Tier 4 means I cannot spend time with my family at Christmas - but for so many, being isolated from their family is a long-term proposition, with many never having the chance to see or even speak to loved ones again.
Goodwill Caravan provides essential basic food to families, health support to the sick, looks after pregnant women and shields children from the worst things you can imagine, particularly in this challenging winter time and amidst a terrible global pandemic.
I am hoping some of you will cheer me along by donating what
you can. I know times are difficult but any amount will help, for example just £20 will help get food and blankets to a family in need and keep them connected with people who care at this terrible time.
Thank you so much!
Steven
