Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
'In March 2014, I noticed a small lump in my neck, the size of a pea. I was referred to the hospital where I was told it was a tumour. As soon as you hear the word tumour, all sorts start running through your mind... Within a couple of days, I was admitted to hospital and the tumour was removed. Following tests, I was told it was benign but I would be monitored over the coming months.’
‘12 months on, I decided to get back into my running and raise some money for a charity. In April 2015, I did my first competitive race in over 5 years, the Guiseley Gallop. When I finished, the sense of achievement was immense - I was straight on the internet looking for other races to enter!’
Since I started running again, I have completed lots of 10Ks, several half marathons and also my first ever full marathon.
‘It felt good knowing that money raised would be helping others, so I thought, I want to do something BIG! This will be my first challenge I have set myself and I decided to raise money for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, as what Jane did herself, was and should be inspiring to others - it certainly spurred me on!”
