South Downs Way Off Road Bike
Fundraising for Afrika Tikkun UK
Fundraising for Afrika Tikkun UK
On the 19th of July, Stephan and David will depart at 5:45am on one of the toughest off-road bike rides the UK has to offer. They will be taking on the 100miles of the South Downs Way off-road bike ride challenge in order to raise money for Africa Tikkun. After having successfully completed the London to Brighton 75mile off-road ride in September 2013, this challenge will be the furthest either off them have ever ridden in one single day. All support will be appreciated and help motivate us to complete this ride.
Afrika Tikkun, similar to
Acceleration, have their roots in SA, but with an international reach. They
currently run 6 Community support centres across SA and have offices in the UK,
North America and Australia where they coordinate various activities to raise
funds.
Nelson Mandela is the Patron in Chief and other than his own children's
foundation, this is the only foundation he is involved with. “Afrika Tikkun has
proven that it has the ability to reach sections of our disadvantaged
population at a grassroots level. It therefore provides both physical help, as
well as giving hope and dignity to its recipients.”
