Story
Each day from 1st - 11th November, Alan will be running / walking 11km and Steph will be swimming 1 mile. We are aiming to raise £111 for The Poppy Factory because we understand the mental and physical benefits that employment brings and want to support The Poppy Factory's goal to assist veterans to move into fulfilling employment after their time in the Armed Forces.
The Poppy Factory’s mission is to support veterans with health conditions on their journey into employment and to continue supporting them whatever challenges they may face. Specialist support and meaningful employment can be truly life-changing, significantly improving veterans' confidence, financial security and health and wellbeing. Veterans may be struggling to adapt to the civilian world and experience complex barriers to work. The Poppy Factory empowers them to plan their own future, supporting them into employment that reflects their aspirations, skills and circumstances. The veterans they support are often 10 years from service and face many personal challenges. Four out of five report a mental health condition, often alongside a range of complex physical conditions. The Poppy Factory works closely with other charities and services supporting the ex-Forces community and receives many referrals from organisations such as The Royal British Legion, Jobcentre Plus and NHS Services.
Please make a donation to help transform the lives of the most vulnerable veterans and their families.
