Story
Hello everyone, I'm writing this to ask for your help in raising money for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
As many of you will know I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.
I had surgery and then radiotherapy throughout August. I was one of the extremely lucky ones, not only did I discover my lump early (it was high up, just a couple of inches below my collar bone, I never thought it was anything bad, just that I'd just been overdoing it at the gym!) but I was able to keep working and drive myself daily to Preston for my treatment. Not that I didn't have many, many offers to help from Tom, Bex and all you really good friends out there. (You know who you are and a heartfelt thank you to you all.) But not everyone is so fortunate and many people in the Lakes especially the elderly or those without transport find the daily trek (I had 20 sessions) too much for them and some even decline treatment.
I would very much like to do something about that, to give something back, I guess my way of saying "thank you" to all the amazing people at the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
So this is where you come in!
In May I am doing the Inca Trail to raise money towards bringing the radiotherapy unit up to Westmoreland County General. A plan is already in place to have two chemotherapy wards at the hospital so this will really help push the fundraising.
I have pledged to raise £3000, but I would obviously like to raise more. We will be doing events at Chesters and The Duck as well but between the three of us that are going on the trek we are aiming to raise £10,000 on these pages.
So now the technical bit............
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now! Thank you.
