Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Anne's JustGiving page.
Last March we were all devastated by the sudden loss of our gorgeous friend Anne. Anne who lived her life to the full, was such a supportive friend to so many of us during her all too brief life .
Anne so very happily shared her life in Itchenor with Graham and Saba and kept her friends close and cared for them passionately.
Sailing in their Sunbeam brought Anne and Graham many great friendships.
Playing bridge was always wonderful as Anne paused to redo her lipstick before trumping someone nonchalantly!
Founding the wonderful Kenyan charity A2E with Graham gave Anne so much pleasure and gave many young Kenyans the opportunity for education and advancement.
Campaigning for any injustice towards animals was always a top priority for Anne and many a time were asked to sign petitions to stop animal cruelty.
Anne lived in several places before settling in Itchenor and had a wonderful pot pouri of friends spanning the globe.
All of us have at some time benefited from her kind and generous nature. Anne could not bear to see friends in need and always made a difference by helping in some way. Her kindnesses were known by many.
Anne may be gone physically from our lives and we will always miss her warm happy presence but we can keep her memory alive if we all contribute with the same generosity she showed us in her life.
As a tribute to our lovely friend I am asking all of Anne's friends to generously donate in her name to raise the £30,000 to provide an assistance dog for someone whose life will be tranformed by having the gift of independence through having a canine partner in their life. Anne would have loved this!
Let's start here.
- Puppy selection and training is £7,500. once we have reached this first target and with Canine Partners guiding us we will be able to choose our puppy and name him/her. We will share the puppy's journey. This process will mean we can all decide on 3 names we think our puppy should be called. Canine Partners ask us to submit these names and they will then choose the one they think is most suitable. No puppies are in service at the same time with the same name. We have also the option to decide on whether we want a girl or a boy and a black or a golden. The puppies are either labradors or lab/ retriever cross as these train well. . All donors will be asked to suggest a name and we will vote for the three most popular and submit these three to Canine Partners.
- Next come the exciting times as we raise £6,500 for our puppy's advanced training. During this phase we will be sent photos as our puppy undertakes his/her training with the specialist trainers which we will share on this page.
- Once our puppy has graduated we will need to raise £6,000 that goes towards the assessment and training of the applicant who will become our puppy's special person. They will have a two week residential course training together and will be offered 24 hour support.
- When our puppy and her partner are at home together we will need the final £10,000 to ensure a lifetime of regular home visits and support for our now very proud Canine Partner dog and the working lifetime of the partnership.

Please donate and share with anyone you feel would enjoy helping us reach our goal.
We have now reached our first goal of £7,500 ...amazing thank you! Next please consider donating for our puppy's training now.
As a tribute to Anne please put a memory or two down in the comments box for others to read so we can share the good times we had with Stella /Anne.
There are many things that I don't understand about life but I do know that knowing Anne made a very big difference to mine. Please join me in honouring her memory so it burns brightly for many years to come.
