The devastating earthquakes and after shocks which have hit in Nepal in the last few weeks have left 8000 dead, 14000 injured, over 700,000 homeless and 8 million affected. Already a country battling poverty, Nepal is suffering immensly as a result.
Although several thousand miles away, each and every one of us is still able to help out. For SURC , Nepal is a country close to many of our members adventuring hearts and so we've decided to get fundraising.
What is happening?
SURC (Southampton University Road Cycling club) are putting on 48-hour non-strop rollathon in support the Oxfam's Nepal Appeal to try and cycle the equivalent distance of Southampton to Kathmandu. It’s taking place on 29-31st May on Campus. We'll keep 8 sets of rollers constantly going by alternating riders with the intention of riding this massive distance. There will be music, lights, a big crowd and food/drinks to keep everyone going through the nights.
How can I get involved?
If you can't make the weekend, then we'd love if it you wanted to make a donation directly to Oxfam through this website.
Thank you for you support.
