Sound Financial Planning Group has provided support to a number of local charities over recent years but the questions of who to support and how to maintain that support have always proved difficult. We have therefore decided to take the innovative step of creating an endowed charitable fund within Essex Community Foundation (registered charity 1052061). Essex Community Foundation (ECF) is an independent charitable trust dedicated to improving the quality of life of people in Essex by investing and distributing funds on behalf of a wide range of donors. Since it was founded in 1996 it has distributed 6,000 grants totalling over £24 million to local voluntary and community organisations in Essex to support their vital work.

By growing a fund within the Community Foundation we intend to provide a long term source of funding to the, increasingly important, voluntary sector and by using ECF we will be able to benefit from their expertise and knowhow but still be able to choose what type of projects are supported. We will also receive vital feedback on how the money is spent and hear about those who have benefitted.
