Story

Every term, Some Voices choir chooses a charity to fundraise for that means something to our members.

In Spring and Summer 2023 we are fundraising for the National Youth Arts Trust, a charity supported by our long-term member and dear friend Martin Meadows-Evans who sadly passed away over Christmas.

In Martin's memory, we are fundraising for a charity that was very special to him. We believe that singing is for everyone, and the NYAT believe that performing arts is for everyone and should be created by all of society, not just by the few.

The National Youth Arts Trust exists to do something about inequality in the performing arts industry and to ensure a career in the Arts is accessible to all.

About the charity

We provide bursaries for music lessons, dance classes and drama school (recall) audition and tuition fees to those who cannot afford to fund themselves and we set up and run youth theatre projects in areas where there is little or no such provision.
