I will be climbing up Snowdon to reach the summit at sunrise. This is a fundraiser for the University Hospitals Birmingham Charity. My portion of the donation will be going to Cardiology and ITU, these are two areas that are close to me. 

Cardiology is my area of speciality, the department provides test and treatments for both inpatients and those requiring them outside of hospital. 

Then ITU is where I spent the early three/ four months of this year, providing bedside care for those with COVID. I saw the trauma of patients, but also the toll it takes on staff, the heartbreak, the pressure and constant need to be on the go. With tears shed and to witness families come and see their loved ones for one final time. It was truly heartbreaking to see these people and their families come in to say goodbye. I will back on the frontline in the coming days to provide more urgent support that is required. 

All the money donated for my part will go to these two areas and provide everything from care essentials to looking after the staff. Such as comfort packs for overnight workers, tea, coffee and even a table to sit around to eat while on shift.
