Story
September 28th 2015 we lost a very dear friend, Kaye Bloomfield, following an 18 month battle with Cancer. This young lady was an inspiration to many, myself not withstanding. Kaye's plight and struggle made me realise that we all have an inner strength and that this can be put to good use. I spoke with Kaye a few months prior to her passing with an idea, to cycle the length of the country, Lands End to John O'Groats. A total of 922 miles.
During this cycle ride we will climb a total elevation of 50,752 ft (Mount Everest is only 29,029), luckily we will get to go down some hills too. Our plan is to do this over a 12 day period, averaging 76.75 miles per day. Joining me on this epic journey will be Jamie Bennington, Pete Hollocks and Alex Newton. I have also managed to secure a support vehicle and driver, my wife Sarah Welsh who was a lifelong friend of Kaye's.
If you have some spare cash you can donate, then it will be going towards St Nicholas Hospice Care in Bury St Edmunds. This organisation does some amazing work for people (and their loved ones) who are at their most fragile and are in need of sensitive and supportive care. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for regular updates. And remember, there will be many Smiles For Kaye!
