Story
The current pandemic has changed our lives in so many ways.
During this turbulent time, my dental teams are still not allowed to provide face to face care for our lovely patients, so we wanted to raise awareness of how to look after your teeth at home while also supporting our local community.
With many of us staying at home, we have now become a nation of home bakers and those sugary treats are only a recipe away. Of course there is no denying that such treats taste great but an ongoing sugar attack is not kind to our teeth.
Sadly the elderly and vulnerable groups have suffered the most during lockdown, and could feel the most disconnected from society while they isolate. So we wanted to set a challenge for you all to keep your teeth safe and to join us in helping a wonderful local charity.
Age Exchange is a vibrant community hub in the heart of Blackheath Village which runs several inter-generational projects with the aim of improving the quality of life and care for older people and those with dementia. Fortunately, Age Exchange has launched virtual support services for isolated individuals to reduce loneliness, which can make all the difference to people who are stuck indoors.
We are looking for the best teeth-friendly snacks to share with our local community - anything from quick go-to snacks or reduced-sugar bakes. This is your chance to be creative!
We would be most grateful if you could also donate £5 or £10 to our fundraiser for Age Exchange.
Every little helps in our local community.
