Story
In August 2022, our Grandpa was referred to Rowcroft Hospice after being diagnosed with oesophageal cancer.
We had always heard how brilliant Rowcroft were, but experiencing their kindness and care first-hand really brought home how incredible they are. They supported the whole family, and helped ensure Grandpa could spend his last few months in the comfort of his own home and without pain. He passed away peacefully on 21st November, surrounded by his family.
To commemorate his life and to say thank you to Rowcroft, we decided to do something wildly outside our comfort zone and signed up for a skydive! 🪂 😳
Our grandparents completed a skydive in the early 90s and loved it. There’s a photo of Grandpa doing his skydive at the top of this page. He’ll be rooting for us, so we hope to do him proud.
Our scheduled jump date is Saturday 3rd June 2023. We will be jumping from 15,000ft which is the highest skydive you can do without oxygen!
Rowcroft is the only adult hospice serving the population of South Devon. They are totally independent and therefore rely heavily on the support of the community. The money we raise will help them provide vital services to people in our community living with life-limiting illnesses and to support their loved ones, just as they have for us.
If you are able to donate, we’d be incredibly grateful for anything you’re able to give.
Thank you ❤️
Sky and Poppy
