We help and support UK families to find the best in Angelman Syndrome.

Story

Due to lots of fundraising events being cancelled this year, AngelmanUK has created Challenge20 - an event lasting the whole of September! Anyone can get involved, all we have to do is pick an activity and do it 20 times!

I am a trustee for AUK, my role is to support siblings - but first and foremost I am Gareth's sister. Gareth is 23 and has Angelman Syndrome which means he cannot speak, has learning difficulties and is totally dependant on people to care for him.

AngelmanUK is run by volunteers who have experience of Angelman Syndrome and relies solely on donations to do their work. This includes running a bi-annual conference, supporting families/professionals, and assisting organisations with their vital research into the condition.

My challenge is to run 2 miles - 20 times. While this may not sound like a lot to some, it certainly will be a challenge for me. A few months ago running would be the last thing on my mind - but lockdown has made us all do crazy things!

Thank you in advance to anyone who is able to donate, it's very much appreciated not only by me, but everyone involved with AUK.
