Shine for Cadán 

This year on Saturday the 3rd of July a group of amazing people will be shining for Cadán. We will walk 2 million steps from sunrise to sunset to raise funds for Crumlin Children’s Hospital. 

In November 2015, our baby boy Cadán was born. What was a very normal and exciting pregnancy, 8 days overdue he decided to make his entrance. Our worlds changed from that moment on, and not the usual changes that come with having a baby, unfortunately. 

Cadán was born with very serious complications, all of which we never knew existed. Within seconds of him being placed on my chest, my midwife noticed he was not ok. From that moment on he spent his short little life (13 days) in Crumlin Children’s Hospital. 

I know many of you with kids, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends will know a child who has had to visit this hospital. It is daunting, it is scary but it was also Cadán’s home and we will never be able to thank the incredible team who looked after Cadán and surrounded him with love and care every single second of every single day. 

Cadán is and always will be a very special little boy who has left nothing but love, strength & hope behind.
