Yorkshire Cat Rescue exists to save the lives of abandoned or unwanted cats and kittens across Yorkshire and beyond. YCR operates a no-kill policy and neuters all cats and kittens before rehoming. YCR receives no central funding and has to fundraise to meet its vet, food and heating bills etc.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Many people know I have a very soft spot for our feline companions and that I have adopted a number of my "special wobbly cats" from Yorkshire Cat Rescue who have a no-kill policy (unless recommended by vets due to quality of life).  Their aims are to relieve the suffering of cats who are in need of care and attention and, in particular, to provide or maintain rescue homes or other facilities for the reception and care of such unwanted animals and their treatment.

Each cat/kitten is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and given any medical and behavioural treatment required before rehoming. This means that sometimes they get chronically ill cats (or kittens) that can still lead a very good life (pretty much equal to any healthy cat) but have to have long-term medication and/or treatment which they cover the costs for.

They do such amazing work which unfortunately does cost a lot.  Last year alone, their vet bills totaled £106,862, therefore each penny raised will make a difference to a saving cat or kitten life.
