Story
Monday 18th April
Aaaaaaaaaagh!!! I did it!! I ran the whole 26.2 miles without stopping! (well - I stopped for about 30 seconds to stretch my left leg) but started running again straight away I promise!! I can't quite believe it - just makes you think what we can all achieve if we put our mind and body to it with self discipline and commitment :-) The support I have received from everyone: close friends and family, work colleagues, people I haven't been in contact with for years, my trainer at the gym, the receptionist at physio and all the supporters shouting out my name alongside the marathon course (ooh I felt like a star - for the first 14 miles or so...)
I got up to 18 miles in my training and then was suffering with knee pain - and had to keep up my cardio with swimming, cross trainer and cycling. I had knee straps on both knees and when I started running I had no idea if my knees were going to make it so, it really was a suprise for me too. Needless to say - I am glad it's over and I'm looking forward to a nice alcohoic drink or two this weekend. Thank you once again xx ps photos to follow soon!!

OK, so now I'm going public - no turning back! Now is as good a time as ever to ask for your support - now that I've run 10 miles in 1hour and 50 minutes and am still able to walk... I guess I'm really doing this.
Please spur me on with your donations - look what I've managed so far with a big fat zero. I wonder who will be the first....
For me, taking part in the marathon is about personal power and perseverence... when you feel you just can't, and you realise that you can. The charity I am running for 'Get Kids Going' gives children with disabilities the chance to feel that they can too.
I'll keep you posted on my progress. Thank you :-)
