Appeal
The Sanskrit word 'Sewa' means selfless service without any expectations. Since Covid Pandemic the selfless and faceless volunteers of U.K. registered charity sewaday have working tirelessly to help the local communities.The need of the hour keeps evolving and continue to change post Pandemic.
Sewa Day Volunteers in several teams around the country are prepared to serve the community as is required. So far, sewaday.org NorthWest has been involved in the following projects:
1.Support elderly and those in Isolation with grocery shopping, provision of hot meals, medicine collection and more.
2. Cooked vegetarian food for the homeless and people in need.
3.Helping local community food hubs with much needed long-lasting food.
4.Through the 'Spread some joy' project the old and young are preparing art work, poems, stories, letters and more to send to nursing homes and NHS wards up and down the country.
5.Provision of meals to the NHS hospitals and ambulance stations; homeless shelters; care homes and of course individuals in need .
6. Support International students placed in difficulty owing to Covid outbreak.
7.During the Manchester Marathon, Manchester 10 K and similar long distance running our volunteers do "Jal-sewa' where-in they distribute water bottles to the runners.
8. Sewaday Northwest is a platform for volunteering work.
9. Supporting school children with special needs.
10. Distributing gifts to schools, food banks during the Christmas , Deepawali and other festive seasons.

- support the local community in Greater Manchester and Northwest who are suffering economic hardship following Covid Pandemic. From July 2020 till date (1/1/2023) the team has shared 25 tonnes of longlasting food.
- Thanks to your support we continue to feed cooked vegetarian meals to the homeless and people in need in local community. From September 2000 till date (1/1/2023) over 16500 cooked vegetarian meals have been distributed.
- In past, your donations have helped in supporting frontline NHS workers in form of supplying regular healthy hotmeals, masks, PPE, toiletries & packed foods both to the hospital and nursing homes.
