Woodcraft Folk is the Co-operative children and young people's movement. We run hundreds of grassroots education groups across the UK where young people of all ages meet to play games, make friends and learn about big ideas from climate change to social justice through co-operative activities.

Story

This year around 2,500 people will gather in the UK to camp together at Common Ground. For 10 days we will live co-operatively in solidarity and friendship. A group of young people from the Mouvement National des Pionniers du Sénégal wish to join the camp, but need financial assistance.

We are fundraising to cover everything from their visa applications and flights to basic items like suitable footwear for the UK climate (wellies are sadly often still needed in August!). This will cost between £8000 and £10,000 (for 9 people). If we do not raise enough money we could struggle to provide them with everything they need for a happy camping experience.

All contributions large or small will be very gratefully received.

Please note any funds in excess of what is needed for the group from the Mouvement National des Pionniers du Sénégal (e.g. if their visa applications are rejected) will be used to support Woodcraft Folk in local or international solidarity and youth work.
