Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Just over 50 pupils, staff and parents from Sedbergh School are braving the cold temperatures of Lake Windermere on Sunday 14th June to swim in the 1/2 and 1 Mile Events. Our pupils range from Prep School age to Sixth Formers and are keen to take on a challenge to raise money for such a good cause. For many pupils, staff and parents it is their first time in a lake and they are terrified of what lies beneath. It is fantastic that so many from the Sedbergh community are getting involved. Last year our Robertson House Pupil & Staff Team won the Female One Mile Team Challenge, which was a great achievement. We are training hard to retain our silverware and also do well with our Dads Team and Mixed Teams.
Many pupils and families in and around Sedbergh have benefited from the Great North Ambulance which we are eternally grateful for. As a charity, they are reliant on the generosity of people to keep them going as each call costs on average £2,500. On board they have specialist trauma doctors and paramedics and each helicopter is never more than 15 minutes from the nearest hospital.
